Darkwing Duck had an episode with the same theme of Batman: Over the edge, where Darkwing dies and in the end someone wakes up from a dream(can't remember who) or the episode with the hardcore Darkwing in the Future where he basicly opressed the city, this results from the death of his stepdaughter kiki.

darkest moment in DS9 was when Sisko kicked the Starfleet bucket and went on full terrorist mode just to smoke out Eddington.
or, when he outright conspired to have a Romulan Senator assassinated and then removed all evidence.

'Kira' on DS9 was not a terrorist like the a-holes in the real world. Just killing to kill. She and her entire world were occupied by another world/culture, and basically ALL forced into slavery. She and other 'terrorist' fought to free her world/people. Unlike the nuts in OUR real world...blowing up military sites, and innocent people, in the name of some deity. This was an entire world, taken over by another world. Not just some 'faith', terrorizing another, because of some stupid book they believe in. World VS. World Yes DS9 had many episodes that make you think.

  • Derek Beyer

As far as Ds9 goes, you could have found some way darker episodes then that. "In The Pale Moonlight" shows the series primary protagonist lied, cheated, bribed men, and covered up 2 murders in order to drag an entire species (The Romulans) into a conflict between the Federation and The Dominion. A conflict the Romulans had resolved to stay neutral in. And on top of all of that the episode ends with Sisko declaring "he can live with it" thats dark even by todays standards.

Mmm. Strange how in the last few decades some of the biggest and most popular successes have been people who even their fans must admit have are hardly masters of their craft, and certainly no where near the best examples: Cilla Black, singing, well in fact she was one of the first of a raft of insanely popular singers who couldn't sing,, Tom Cruise and Will Smith, acting. As well as well - known people who are plain incompetent, you know who they are, the last three incumbents as US president for starters...

    • MadMax382
      MadMax382 Aylar önce

Wait a minute. Did I say 'last three? That's a generous underestimate. Reagan was upbeat and lucky, Tricky Dicky was venal though no fool, Kennedy was always a disaster in waiting. You probably have to go back to the 50s and Eisenhower to find a little bit of genuine ststesmanship. But anyway.

Well...."ALF" was from the 80's, even though like 8 episodes aired in early 90 as the show ended. Absolutely loved the Family Matters episode, it was awesome!! But most of the Deep Space 9 series was dark, that was the point. Major Kira being forced to work with her oppressors. The full back story of the Cardassian occupation of Bajor is what made me a fan. The episode "Duet" is a top 5 series favorite for me, a coward Cardassian who was merely a file clerk pretending to be an evil overlord in hopes that he will be executed for his "war crimes". Doesn't get much darker than that

Anti-gun rhetoric in the 90's courtesy of a production connected to Will Smith. Hmm go figure. The lefties really don't want the average Joe to be able to defend himself. Possibly because their overlords see us as chattel and boy would the farmer crap himself if a steer his leading to slaughter would pull out a 9mm Parabalum and demands to live.

    TRU MAN 4 aylar önce

They switch it up like that from funny to serious to showcase the a diverse range of talent so that the stars don't become typecast and have a career after the sitcom. This is evident with Steve urkel and his altar ego when he steps into the machine he invented. He unfortunately didn't transition as an adult star like will smith. He is kind off odd looking even when he's not urkel. Too many Urkels on your team that's why your Winslow.

I remember that chapter of Fresh Prince, it took a long time for the censorship in my country to let the TV channels shows that chapter and I remember my parents saw that chapter with my sis and I and used that chapter to explain to us the dangers of guns, how violence create more violence and to never have guns...
This show has several chapters that were educational about many things like racism (when a member of the family wanted to marry a white guy), responsabilities, family problems, abandon from a family member, etc...
I also remember a lot the one with the car, where Uncle Phil defended Will in court...
There were also many social issues, like once Jazz was badly judged because how he is, like a bad influence or criminal!!!
I really loved Fresh Prince of Bel Air, it was funny, but it didn't hide the dark side of society!!!

Babylon 5 got way darker than DS9 could ever even hope to. You had Lt. Susan Ivanova bothered by her past of her mother that took her own life, and a father that she had troubles with. Garidaldi a former alcoholic with a checkered past. Commander Sinclair that survived the Earth/Minbari War but was missing for the last 24 hours of that war and couldn't remember what happened. And Captain Sheridan, the loss of his wife and eventually has to deal with a Earth government grow more and more totalitarian, only to die on a world he was warned about go to. Throw all this in with the Narn/Centauri War, the Shadow War, the history of the Dilgar War and eventual war to take out Earth usurper President Clark. B5 was as dark as they come.
