Green Book - Official Trailer [HD]

    In Theaters November 21, 2018
Academy Award® nominee Viggo Mortensen (Eastern Promises, The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and Academy Award® winner Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Hidden Figures) star in Participant Media and DreamWorks Pictures’ Green Book. In his foray into powerfully dramatic work as a feature director, Peter Farrelly helms the film inspired by a true friendship that transcended race, class and the 1962 Mason-Dixon line.

When Tony Lip (Mortensen), a bouncer from an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx, is hired to drive Dr. Don Shirley (Ali), a world-class Black pianist, on a concert tour from Manhattan to the Deep South, they must rely on “The Green Book” to guide them to the few establishments that were then safe for African-Americans. Confronted with racism, danger-as well as unexpected humanity and humor-they are forced to set aside differences to survive and thrive on the journey of a lifetime.

Jim Burke (The Descendants), Charles B. Wessler (The Heartbreak Kid) produce alongside Farrelly’s fellow writers, Brian Currie and Nick Vallelonga, and Farrelly. The drama is executive produced by Participant’s Jeff Skoll (The Help) and Jonathan King (Lincoln), along with Octavia Spencer (Fruitvale Station) and Kwame L. Parker (Kill Bill series), as well as Cinetic Media’s John Sloss (Boyhood) and Steven Farneth. Linda Cardellini (Brokeback Mountain, The Founder) co-stars.

I need to see this...two people who couldn't be more different, came to respect each other and became lifelong friends. They died within months of each other in 2010. This is the type of movie and message this country needs right now.

Is this going to be a good movie? Yes.
Is the general public still being brainwashed into believing that racism is still real? Yes. (Are there people who are outwardly racist? Sure. Maybe 1 in 1000. But that's probably the same proportion of murderer, thief, or rapist. Bad, yes. But not some national crisis. Don't believe it? See the #WalkAway movement and footage of Trump rallies. Salt n pepper.)
If you think "this movie is what the country needs right now", you are drinking the propaganda koolaid. Although the overall message will be something like "we're all the same on the inside", the REALITY is you will be exposed to ALL the scenes in the film that remind you of racism. And after the movie makes a big debut, there will be talk shows and radio spots with activists saying things like, "this is a reminder that racism is real and we need to be have a discussion about it...." Remember, slavery was abolished and rights for blacks was won. Why are we still going on about it?
Imagine when slavery was abolished and a slave owner opened his gates. But one slave stays in the field and says, "I want to stay here to be content reminded about how bad it was."
Get the slavery out of your head, go make a friend of another ethnicity, stop ripping the bandage off a fresh wound and crying that it still hurts.

I love this trailer, truly a film to bring people together, completely devoid of contemporary politics which polarize racial groups both white and black. Rather it simply relies on history and fact to convey the theme of prejudice and how two simple men overcome it by simply being themselves, without radical social activism.

Everything about this movie is just stupid. Why did Mahershala Ali take this shit? His character is a pompous, unlikable person who is so politically correct and unbelievable, it's over the job. I really want someone to find a black person that's never had fried chicken. He eats it like he's some Somalian that's never had proper food in his life. Fucking ridiculous and stupid. Then there's this "Italian vs. racist white Southerners" bullshit. I know from my grandmother growing up in an Italian part of Brooklyn that they were very racist towards blacks too. He would not be some lovable thug with a heart of gold. The whole movie is so fucking manipulative it makes me cringe. This shit may have worked in the nineties but not anymore unless you are a moron.

i hate these kind of movies. "oh look he's black and he's white! that makes it extra special for the audience!" bullshit! first of all "green books" were travel logs for black people in the deep south at the time. instead of making a movie about like a black family or friends traveling during the great migration or something they make this. and why do movies like this always act like the south was the only racist part of this country? segregation was just as thick up north too. sick of movies like this

    • Will Jacobs
      Will Jacobs 12 gün önce

The worst is how inaccurate these films are, making whites look like they're out to get blacks. I've experienced more racism from blacks than whites as a person of East Indian descent. I don't believe Hollywood's bullshit anymore.

Feeding into cliché once again. A professional concertizing pianist always has to be portrayed as an arrogant snob. Ali looks ridiculous in this role. I guess a regular humble black man or woman can never be a "classical" musician. (I have no clue what kind of music they are attempting here from this trailer. There is no classical piece EVER written for piano, cello and bass. Nor jazz for that matter.) Yes, we get it. The black guy here has "class" and the white guy doesn't. Gee, how original. The only problem is, I know of no classical musician who behaves and looks and dresses like the pompous prick I just saw in this trailer.

We can not even see a commercial without a black face, sports in America are black, music is black, and yet these sick people who make these movies want to convince the world that blacks are being held back??? Sick! Sick! Sick! Libtards!

Hopefully the film portrays a realistic look at the racism of the south in the 1960's, of which there was plenty. I really doubt it'll make any overt statements about the modern struggles of blacks in America (of which there are few unrelated to escaping violent black culture.)

  • Roman Darius
    Roman Darius 22 gün önce

Oh, boo..hoo..hoo,!!!! Boo...hoo...hoo, everybody is picking on him because he is black! In South Africa, the black government has told the white people to leave their farms or be killed. So far over 80,000 whites have been brutally killed, yet only white people are called racist. So! Boo...hoo...hoo...for this black man

    • Nate McMillin
Nate McMillin 3 gün önce +1

All racism is illogical and should be exterminated. Choosing to deny one race's past struggles due to another race's current struggles doesn't make sense either.
Nobody except a genuine racist (or an idiot) would claim that those governments are doing the right thing. Nobody but a racist (or an idiot) would claim that the South in the 1960's didn't have a problem with racism towards blacks.
